Luckyrice Food Festival 2011 aka Asian Foodie HEAVEN

Before I even pretend that anyone reading this should go to the following event and that I “hope” to attend, I’m telling you flat out I’m going. Screw encouraging others to go. I’m going! I can’t miss this. This is too much amazing food culture to ignore, and literally a 5 minute walk from my apartment.

So what it is you might ask? Well, it’s the Luckyrice Food Festival, a week long Asian cuisine food extravaganza with the biggest chefs in NYC participating. In my future life, I will be able to attend every single event the whole week, you know, if I want to. For now, I will be attending the Night Market on May 4th hosted by momofuku in Dumbo, Brooklyn – a stone’s throw from chez moi.

It’s my version of heaven. Asian street food grub prepared by the best restaurants and chefs in town. I mean, if you look at the festival’s Culinary Council, and you’re a foodie, you will do a happy dance, book your tickets to various events, and then do a happy dance again.

For me and Erik, going to the Night Market makes the most sense seeing as how it’s walking distance from our apartment, it’s supporting events taking place in the fabulous borough of Brooklyn and it’s a reasonable price for an event of this type and the fun we are sure to have. Most importantly, the money we pay to attend the event goes to City Harvest. Food, cocktails, and our money goes to an amazing cause? SOLD.

I also have dreams of going to the Opening Cocktail party on May 3rd. They’re serving 34 different cocktails to taste – 34! But we’ll see what I can afford closer to the event. Currently attending two of these events is simply unrealistic for me. But I am NOT missing the Food Market. I refuse.

So I expect to see all my foodie friends there, especially those of you who live in Brooklyn. No excuses bitches. May weather, Asian food, drinks, and handsome chefs.

Heaven. On. Earth.

  2. Isn’t LUCKYRICE wonderful? Grand Feast is definitely my favorite, but this year’s cocktail party was a blast. Just wanted to give you a heads up that the photo you are using is one that I took last year (http://www.flickr.com/photos/juicystyle/4577290760/in/set-72157623987826982) and would very much appreciate the credit. Thanks!
