A Weekend in the Bay Area

Another week, another airplane.

I’m off to San Francisco, or more specifically the Bay Area, for the weekend tomorrow and while I’m not looking forward to the flight or the general exhaustion that comes with travel, I can’t wait to go home for a few days and see my Mom and my west coast friends.

To be perfectly honest, there is not much on the agenda beyond sleeping, eating, and drinking to my heart’s content.  There will be dinner at my favorite restaurant in Berkeley (Wood Tavern), wine tours and lunch in Napa, Pilates classes, a few trips to Peet’s Coffee for my west coast coffee fix, a visit to my favorite cupcake bakery in Berkeley, serious Mexican food consumption, a possible late night run to one of three amazing west coast burger crack dens also known as In N Out Burger, Jack in the Box, or Nations, and of course general catching up with wonderful friends over said amazing California food and wine. It truly does not get any better.

All that being said, this trip will be my last until the month of September and I honestly can’t wait to get back to NYC and start back on my routine. For as much as I love traveling and seeing new places and meeting new people I am without a doubt a creature of habit and all these lovely interruptions are starting to stress me out a bit. All that being said, I am not complaining about my luck with the travel gods this month. But maybe next time, if they could spread the trips out over a few months instead of just one, that’d be great.

Not sure how blog worthy any of my adventures in the Bay Area will be beyond posting pictures of my food and wine (shocking) but I’ll do my best to update the blog during my last little adventure.

Lyrics of the Day

“I found God on the corner of 1st and Amistad
Where the West was all but won
All alone, smoking his last cigarette
I said, “Where you been?” He said, “Ask anything”

Where were you when everything was falling apart?
All my days were spent by the telephone that never rang
And all I needed was a call that never came
To the corner of 1st and Amistad

Lost and insecure, you found me, you found me
Lying on the floor surrounded, surrounded
Why’d you have to wait? Where were you? Where were you?
Just a little late, you found me, you found me

But in the end everyone ends up alone
Losing her, the only one who’s ever known
Who I am, who I’m not and who I wanna be
No way to know how long she will be next to me

Lost and insecure, you found me, you found me
Lying on the floor surrounded, surrounded
Why’d you have to wait? Where were you? Where were you?
Just a little late, you found me, you found me!

The early morning, the city breaks
And I’ve been calling for years and years and years and years
And you never left me no messages
You never sent me no letters
You got some kind of nerve taking all I want

Lost and insecure, you found me, you found me
Lying on the floor, where were you? Where were you?

Lost and insecure, you found me, you found me
Lying on the floor surrounded, surrounded
Why’d you have to wait? Where were you? Where were you?
Just a little late, you found me, you found me

Why’d you have to wait to find me, to find me?”

You Found Me, The Fray
